One Piece Odyssey is based on the famous straw hat crew of the same name, from the pen of Eiichiro Oda! Taking on the JRPG style. One Piece Odyssey is a turn-based JRPG with a mix of combat, adventure and storytelling that will certainly please fans of the saga. The game does a great job at capturing the style of One Piece and has some good moments but the people who played complain about easy fights and outdated quest design. Ultimately I’d say this should be an easy recommendation for long-time fans of the saga but otherwise there are better options.
Having played One Piece Odyssey, I can confidently say that it is a captivating addition to the One Piece franchise. Developed by ILCA and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, this turn-based role-playing game offers an engaging and immersive experience for fans and newcomers alike.
Controlling Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates is a thrill, as each playable character possesses unique abilities that align with their powers. These abilities are utilized for traversal, collecting items, and solving puzzles, adding depth and variety to the gameplay.
The transition from the field to the battle screen brings the combat to life. The “Scramble Area Battles” system introduces strategic elements, with battles divided into multiple areas. Optimizing the positions of party members becomes crucial to counter opponents effectively. The inclusion of the “Dramatic Scene” mechanic adds an interesting twist, providing inconvenient situations that align with the characters’ personalities.
