Shadow of the Erdtree is the kind of expansion that reminds you why Elden Ring’s world works so well: the new areas are packed with secrets, the boss fights are memorable in that “okay, one more try” way, and the whole thing has real scale instead of padding. The new system can be a bit of an adjustment at first, but once it clicks, the progression starts to make sense and the difficulty curve stops feeling random.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is set to be From Software's most ambitious expansion to the huge Souls dynasty. While there's obviously a huge new map, you'll need to have progressed further in the main story to access it, but it's not inaccessible. Demanding new bosses, new weapons, new equipment and new invocations are all on the agenda, of course.
If you love this gorgeous RPG and want to play it for longer hours, the upcoming DLC is what you need. Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree features an additional story set in the new territory. Fight frantic enemies using new weapons and equipment all while exploring the dark but beautiful map. Given the success of the base game, you can expect a lot from this expansion.
Elden Ring is huge and it will become even bigger with its new expansion Shadow of the Erdtree with new locations, dungeons, bosses and secrets, more of what we love and ready for your tarnished to discover. All players of the base game are, like me, anxiously waiting for this to release and sink hours and hours in the Shadowlands while following Miquella's travel and finding new ways to die. It is a must have.
