A mother’s search for her missing child pulls her from ordinary life into a world of shadows and terror. Secret hides both realms, requiring the uncovering of clues, solving intricate puzzles, and confronting brutal enemies.
Unholy has a surprising number of different enemy types and each has their own behaviour and powers. Zombies are mindless drones that will ignore you and blunder into traps on their own accord, while guards are marginally more intelligent and follow set patrolling paths.
Unholy is very much a mix of good and bad. The graphics are absolutely fantastic and so is the overall world of the Unholy. It’s too bad that the gameplay and story don’t hold up to the world it’s in. The gameplay is mediocre overall.
Unholy is a mish-mash of interesting but underdeveloped ideas, with an intriguing aesthetic style. There are scares to be had but they’re often undermined by clunky design and a somewhat goofy dramatic delivery. Unholy is one of those games that I’m painfully ambivalent about; I love and hate parts of it.

Unholy is an adventure horror game with a first-person view that takes place in a post-soviet Eastern European town. The game offers two distinct realities to explore, the real world and a twisted reality ruled by a religious cult, you will need to find clues and solve puzzles in order unveil the mystery of the disappearance of your child. Enemy encounters are meant to be approached with stealth but you have access to weapons and useful abilities if needed. The visuals are beautiful and the atmosphere looks very intense, to me these seem like the best feature of this game.
