The strategy is a little hard to understand, since this upgrade of Ark Survival Evolved, which brings a few new features and functions and, above all, a big leap forward in terms of graphics, suffers from the same problems as its big brother, with many bugs and optimisation problems, and the game was released after Ark 2 was announced. It feels like ARK is always followed by bugs. The first game, whil outstanding, had major issues upon its launch, and ARK Survival Ascended is experiencing the same destinity. The new opus has interesting improvements, such as lack of pipes or cables, as well as graphical enhancements. But it’s difficult to enjoy these features in the current state. Maybe it will get better when the game will be out of early access.
ARK: Survival Ascended is the “sequel” to ARK Survival Evolved, one of the most influential first open world survival early access, that did fascinate many players but also needed many years to be ironed out. This new entry unfortunately doesn’t have the best record, especially with the initial state of the game at launch, running poorly even on the highest pc configuration. As of now the game needs several patches to be at a playable state, unfortunately.
A remastered version of the original Ark Survival Evolved with Unreal Engine 5 and improved visuals but very bad performance and optimization. In my opinion, if you already played the original, there’s isn’t much of a difference that justifies buying this one as well. Surviving in a world filled with dinosaurs and other dangerous creatures while taming them and building your base is fun but maybe wait some more time for fixes and performance improvements.
