Palworld is an open world adventure game at the crossroads of Pokemon and, I would say, survival games where we collect creatures that can be our best allies and our worst enemies (Ark. Conan…).
Indeed, the graphical chart will easily remind you of Pokemon, some “Pals” (creatures name) look very much like it (too much?). You will be able to reproduce them, use them to work, eat, sell them, use them as mounts (there are flying ones), and of course, fight!
Hopefully, a real identity will allow the game to break away from Pokemon, although the Switch versions have watered down the formula that probably reached its peak on 3DS, with a difficult transition to Switch. Which perhaps leaves room for other games in the genre to step up, at least in some aspects.
Palworld is an open world adventure game where you collect creatures kinda like Pokemon. The game promises survival elements where you need to manage food, temperature and hunters, exploration either by land, air or sea and you can use the creatures called Pals as mounts, building elements and you can order order the Pals to work on building and much more like farming, breeding and crime. The game will support multiplayer where you can play alongside friends or battle them and their Pals.
A realistic Pokémon game with poachers and guns that’s also a survival crafting game. Pokémon with guns, slavery, and food chains. This is either insanely good or just insane.
Sure thing! Palworld is an upcoming open-world survival game that mixes elements of farming, crafting, and adventure. The game takes place in a world where humans live alongside magical creatures called Pals. In Palworld, you will have to collect resources, craft items, and build shelter to survive in the wilderness. Most importantly, you can also capture and train Pals to help you with tasks like farming and combat. Somewhat of a Pokémon game with more adventure added to it! I can’t wait for it to come out, I’ll be the first to buy it here on Allkeyshop for some sweet discount.
Palworld is an upcoming monster collecting game with a survival core to it on top of a more mature and violent content, generally absent in this kind of games.
Developed and published by the indie studio Pocketpair, who already dabbled with the survival genre and sandbox experience in Craftopia, the studio this time is set on to bring a much more bigger in scope experience and taking a jab at the Pokèmon franchise, with their own spin to the genre.
In an open world setting and multiplayer modes, in Palworld you’ll be able to tame and capture creatures known as Pal, to help you fight, build, craft and survive in the game. With a strong focus on survival, Palworld is from the get go, as shown in the trailer, taking inspiration from those fake game ads you’ve seen around a few years ago, where they used to show Pokèmon clones with stuff like out of GTA, Saints Row and the likes.
While this aspect of the game is definitely there, the developers seems to have shifted it to be part of the sandbox and survival experience. Where you’ll need to capture new and stronger Pals, to help you in exploration but also to build, farm and create your own ecosystem with breeding and mixing mechanics. The more “mature” aspects will appear with stuff like overworking, ample usage of guns from both the players but also Pals (some even strapped with rockets), but also gruesome aspects like the need to sacrifice your Pals for your own survival, aspect often implicitly mentioned in the Pokèmon games but never fully explored, even the concept of death is quietly mentioned in those while in Palworld is a normal part of the life cycle.
Inside the games there are also poachers, who are trying to capture Pals and basically enslave them, and although we’ve seen the player fighting them, we’ve also seen enslaving them himself as workers in a weapon facility.
The title itself doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously, with very obvious ripoff from the Game Freak’s Pocket Monsters design and being heavily inspired for the design of the world as well. With a yet to be announced release date (currently in the vague 2023 window) and pricing, on top of no gameplay trailer just showcase and announcement, albeit an interesting idea, we still need more info about the game!
