At the end of Shadow of War, you will be attacked by a horde of orcs who are attempting to reclaim the fortresses you took from them. This was part of the Shadow Wars system. In the main game, this battle with orcs will come to an end, however, once The Slaughter Tribe DLC comes in, this becomes an endless mode.
In Shadow War endless mode, one orc tribe at a time will attack each of your fortresses. To beat them, you will need to keep the fortresses from being conquered by your enemies by holding control points. You’ll also get to face stronger orcs such as warchiefs and captains.
The Shadow War mode and The Slaughter Tribe expansion does not have a release date yet, though, so we’ll have to wait for Monolith to release more details.
