Mario Kart World is not especially original, as it is again a car racing game with Mario as the lead character and many others of the Mario games and some surprises. The fun is in the racing and customization of both drivers and vehicles, and of course the playing with family and friends factor, that is precisely what makes you invest time to unlock that special skin you want to show all. Nintendo never risks with new ideas yet still they success into making fun games that are a joy to play
The new Mario Kart was the debut game for Nintendo Switch 2 and introduces in the series an open-world that can explored in free-roam to find secrets, collectibles and missions. There are a lot of different modes and most of them support up to 24 players competing for the first place. For people who played previous Mario Kart games this one may probably feel a bit too familiar but there's a good number of new features to justify playing it.

The Switch 2 is relying on the ever-popular Mario Kart franchise to boost sales at launch. Mario Kart World is adopting an open-world format for transitions between races, which is smooth but feels a bit empty at the moment. However, we expect updates and DLC to provide new content throughout the Switch 2's lifetime. Races now feature 24 players, and the AI is more aggressive than in MK8 — if you're in the pack, watch out for shells! Overall, though, the game is accessible and still fun!
