Gord is a mix of RTS and colony sim in a dark-fantasy setting with survival elements. Your goal is to help your tribe survive by defending your settlement against enemy tribes or gruesome monsters and maintaining the tribe members healthy and sane. The settlement can be improved with better structures and defenses and there will be quests that make us venture into the wilderness to fight creatures or uncover secrets.
Gord sounds absolutely incredible! I’m thrilled to hear that this dark fantasy strategy game, inspired by Slavic folklore, will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The fact that it’s being developed by the same team behind The Witcher 3 and Frostpunk only adds to my excitement.
The gameplay mechanics of Gord are intriguing. As players, we’ll have the responsibility of overseeing our citizens’ well-being, including their hunger, disease, and trauma. Nurturing their faith and training them for battle adds another layer of depth to the gameplay. The concept of managing the survival aspects while expanding our settlements, known as ‘gords,’ and embarking on perilous quests is truly enticing.
Gord, an ambitious RTS set in a fantasy world, attracts attention with its dark style and detailed environment. This game will challenge your survival skills, as you develop and expand your village while battling the monsters that lurk in the woods. The world around you is very dangerous, but Gord will keep pushing your limits, inviting you to complete more quests outside the secure walls of your village.
The most interesting feature is procedural generation, which lets you choose from a wide range of scenario options when you start a new playthrough. You can customize the difficulty as well as other events. The gameplay looks pretty addictive, and I’d recommend trying out the free demo if you’re interested in this game.
