SCUM is an open world multiplayer survival game developed by Gamepires. A small Croatian indie dev team known for the Gas Guzzler Extreme series. Their multiplayer survival title SCUM entered Early Access on August 29, 2018, immediately catching the interest of many survival fans and becoming one of the big indie hits of 2018.

SCUM 1.0 Now Available: The End of Early Access
After over 7 years of development, we finally have the official launch of SCUM. The open world survival multiplayer from the Croatian team Gamepires. Launch date confirmed for 9 June 2025 marking the end of Early Access on 17 June 2025 with Version 1.0.
All accompanied by the Official Trailer, showing us briefly with a cinematic style the challenges ahead. Playing as a criminal you find yourself on SCUM Island where you must fight to survive. Serving your sentence and entertaining the Show audience. Between Puppets (zombies) and armed NPCs, and even other players who may try to stop you.
SCUM: What’s New in Version 1.0
A long-awaited official launch for Gamepires’ title after many years. Originally published in collaboration with Devolver Digital and Croteam. Since 2019, the team has become fully independent. The awaited Version 1.0 brings a huge list of changes, mainly:
- Island Overhaul: A complete revamp of SCUM Island with improved biomes and points of interest but keeping the layout intact. Plus, more realistic wet terrain for gameplay and new secret bunkers to discover.
- Armed NPCs: New hostile NPCs on the map with different tiers and gear. They can interact and defend themselves from Puppets, adding new gameplay options for PvP, PvE, or solo servers.
- Vehicles & Weapons: The Mariner plane and Tractor got a modular system upgrade. Weapons reworked with new animations, details, and better visibility.
- Server Files: Finally, the option to host your own custom server with game files, plus detailed docs to help newcomers.
All paired with a long list of Bug Fixes and QoL improvements. And a Twitch Drop event coming up, where you can claim up to 4 Outfits and a Weapon Skin. The first set is already live: watch 2 hours of streaming to unlock the Daredevil outfit (5 pieces).
