Inside Xbox opened up X019 in London packed with lots of new game announcements and development updates on some of the biggest projects Xbox has under its roof. In case you missed the program, here’s a rundown of some of the very best that Microsoft had to show:

Everwild

Not much was said about Everwild before its announcement trailer was played at the event except that Rare had been secretly working on the new IP for some time already. The colourful cel-shaded graphics look beautiful but the trailer didn’t really give any hints of what the game is all about.

Grounded

Obsidian Entertainment had their very own new IP to show off at X019. Grounded is a survival game that features kids turned into the size of an ant and taking on gigantic challenges. There’s exploration, there’s combat, there’s crafting, and there’s building, so it looks like it’s off to a great start.

West of Dead

West of Dead is a twin-stick action shooter featuring comics-style aesthetics and a Ghost Rider lookalike cowboy voiced by Ron Perlman (Hellboy/Sons of Anarchy). The game is currently in open beta on Xbox One, so make sure to take a stab at taking down the baddies of Purgatory, Wyoming when you can.

Sea of Thieves The Seabound Soul Update

The next monthly update for Sea of Thieves will be called The Seabound Soul and will come with new story content. A new type of explosive ammo called Firebombs will also be added, plus new cosmetics and commendations. The update will go live on November 20th.

KartRider Drift

As if there weren’t enough kart racers already, KartRider Drift was also announced for Xbox One and PC. The game will feature a drift-focused Speed Mode and a more traditional Item Mode. It also features extensive customization options. The game is free-to-play, although you will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play on Xbox One.

Bleeding Edge

Ninja Theory’s Rhani Tucker showed off Bleeding Edge’s latest trailer at X019. The video features several of the game’s characters just fooling around. Also, it actually reveals just when the game will be coming out — March 24th. Attendees were also treated to a playable demo during the event.

Tell Me Why

Dontnod Entertainment’s revealed one more game they’ve been cooking up alongside Twin Mirror. This one’s called Tell Me Why and will be published by Xbox Game Studios. It features twins Alyson and Tyler Ronan for protagonists. Tyler is a transgender and was carefully designed with help from GLAAD for authenticity. The game is slated for a summer release next year.

Drake Hollow

Microsoft unveiled Drake Hollow, a new game from The Molasses Flood that features cute plant-like creatures you’ll need to protect from nasty monsters. The game will also involve collecting resources, planting crops, and building a town up. It really looks a lot like Fortnite’s Save the World mode, but we’ll know more for sure before it releases in 2020.

Halo Reach (Halo The Master Chief Collection)

Microsoft has finally revealed when Halo Reach will be coming to both Xbox One and PC as part of Halo The Master Chief Collection. The prequel should be a great way to get into the Halo games especially for PC players who have never played a Halo game before. The game comes to Xbox One, PC, Steam and Xbox Game Pass on December 3rd.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Microsoft shared new 4k footage for Microsoft Flight Simulator during the event. As we’ve seen from previous videos and screenshots, the game is just gorgeous and will probably entice even non-fans to jump in just to take in the game’s version of our world.

Age of Empires 4

As anticipated, Microsoft showed off gameplay for Age of Empires 4. The real-time strategy game is definitely one of the most anticipated titles for this event and it is looking epic. The scale of battles and how sieges are depicted will definitely please fans. The video showed off the Mongols and the English civilizations and revealed just when this instalment is set — the Medieval period.

Crossfire X

Smilegate showed off the first gameplay trailer for Crossfire X at X019. It looks pretty solid, although some of the animations will probably be improved further. Remedy Entertainment will be creating the singleplayer campaign of the game. It will launch sometime in 2020 and will be free-to-play and exclusive to Xbox One.

Minecraft Dungeons

Mojang has revealed that Minecraft Dungeons will be launching in April 2020. They also shared some gameplay as they played live during their time on the stage. Luckily, they stumbled upon a ‘secret’ dungeon with a rare puzzle that unlocks a secret treasure room. They insist it was procedurally generated.

Wasteland 3

inXile studio head Brian Fargo took a moment to prep Xbox fans for Wasteland 3. He said that the game will be a standalone title and players won’t need to have played the first two games to fully enjoy Wasteland 3. The game’s new trailer also showed off the graphical upgrades inXile was able to add thanks to Microsoft’s funding. The game launches on May 19th, 2020.

The Xbox Game Pass subscription service also received a lot of time in the spotlight as Microsoft revealed that they already have 50 games in Preview and several more games are coming to the service:

Aside from these, Microsoft also revealed that Xbox Game Pass will also allow players to play included games through the xCloud streaming service. xCloud expands to Windows 10 PCs and several new regions next year. It’ll probably go to full launch next year as well.

And that’s it for the very best of X019. What was your favourite X019 moment? Tell us in the comments below.
