Fez Developer Requested Game to be Taken Off GOG

Fez will no longer be available on GOG.com, the digital store has announced. According to GOG, the game’s developer, Polytron Corporation, requested the game to be removed from their platform. It is unclear as to why the company requested such, but may probably be because of a recent controversy surrounding GOG and its supposed involvement with Gamergate. On the other hand, if you own Fez on GOG before the game gets taken out July 25th, it will still remain in your library. The game will still be available anywhere else.

Fortnite’s limited-time Playground Mode is back, and it comes with a number of tweaks. First, players are now allowed to switch teams mid-game, and voice chat is switched on for all teams – Epic says they are planning to add more customization options on this feature in the future. Another thing is that this time there is more loot as promised. Ammo and building materials are more abundant, and you can move faster from one point to another with the addition of the golf cart.

Bandai Namco announced that the next two DLC characters coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ are the classic versions of Vegeta and Goku. Both characters got separate trailers that gave fans a glimpse on how both of them are in action. Base Goku and Vegeta are designed after their characters in Dragon Ball Z. Both of them are wearing their original outfits as well as having their original moves like the Kamehameha and the Kaioken for Goku and Galick Gun attack and the Galaxy Breaker for Vegeta.

Realm Royale Coming to Consoles, Beta Tests Begin Next Week

The Investigation Launches October

The Occupation, a real-time investigative thriller, is coming to PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4 this October 9th. The game is set in the year 1987 in England’s North West, in the aftermath of a terrorist attack. In response to the incident, the British government establishes The Union Act which infringes on the public’s personal freedom. Players take the role of a journalist, and will choose whether they want to be a whistleblower fighting against The Union Act, or just go on with the game without going against it.

Developer BioWare announced that Anthem may not have the text chat option in the game. According to the game’s creative director, Brenon Holmes, the addition of the text chat would require other accessibility options that would cost money. Right now they are trying to figure out what would be the most feasible thing to do in regards to this. Since Anthem is a social game, it is compared to other games having the same feature. Anthem will launch on February 22nd, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.


Green Hell Releases August

A hyper-realistic survival sim called Green Hell is set to launch next month in Early Access for PC. Players will find themselves in a deadly jungle with no memory as to how they were stranded there in the first place. They would need to manage different kinds of hunger meters, check their extremities for wounds and diseases as well as fend of the scary wildlife. The game would also have some elements of a “psychological thriller”. The Early Access launch of Green Hell will be on August 29th.

PUBG Corp. has announced that they are committing to a 5-year PUBG esports plan. The company aims for tournaments to continue at least until 2022, by which time they expect to be globally recognized. Rumors have it that Marvel Ultimate Alliance may be getting delisted from online stores soon. BioWare Executive Producer Mark Darrah has shared some new details on their upcoming RPG Anthem, especially on what weapons and gear players can expect. In terms of weapons, the game does not have dual wield. Each Javelin can carry two weapons plus there’s an additional gear slot weapons. Players get standard weapons like pistols and miniguns, while gear slot weapons include mortar, wrist missile, and grenades. One little animation has caused a bug in Fortnite which players have been exploiting since. The bug, called “ghost peeking,” lets players stand on a stair or a ramp and allow them to shoot on enemies without having their bodies exposed. This allowed players to shoot enemies without any risk at all. Fortunately, it looks like Epic has done some tweaks in the animation as it looked like the bug is finally fixed.


Forza Horizon 4 Winter Gameplay Showcased

Microsoft and Playground games showed off how Forza Horizon 4 looks in winter through a new feature video. The trailer shows how players will ply snowy and icy roads. It also shows the winter map which also reflects the season. Another thing, the game still includes the convoy feature, but this time will be a way for players to group up. Collisions are also still on. The #ForzathonShop was also featured in the video, and it will be refreshed weekly as the season changes in the game. Forza Horizon 4 launches on October 2nd for Xbox One and Windows 10.

World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth is set for launch on August 14th, however, its first raid won’t be coming until September 4th. Players can take advantage of this time and prepare their characters for the Uldir raid. Uldir will come with Normal and Heroic difficulty, with the Mythic race to kill G’huun the blood god coming on September 11th; during this time the first wing of Uldir in the Looking For Raid matchmaking difficulty will also be opened. Wing two opens September 25th, and the last one on October 9th.

Players who own the DRM-free version of No Man’s Sky on GOG won’t be able to access the game’s multiplayer features from the game’s Next update until late this year, a joint statement from Hello Games and GOG.com said. All single-player content introduced by the Next update will be included, though, which are third-person mode, upgraded visuals, better base building, player customization, and more. There is no definite release for the multiplayer feature, but they said players should expect it later this year.

PUBG Corp has kicked off PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ first major official tournament dubbed as PUBG Global Invitational. The competition starts July 25th and will run until Sunday, July 29th. The tournament is split in two: one strand focuses on third-person perspective mode, and the other one locked to first-person mode. A Charity Showdown is also scheduled to happen Thursday, July 26th. Dutch Players Get a Peek at Dota 2 Loot Box Contents

A Reddit user has spotted a change on Dota 2 loot boxes in The Netherlands. According to him, the game will now show the player the contents of the loot box. That’s right, the game’s new system now displays exactly what gear are inside the loot box, although players can only purchase 1 loot box at a time. Dutch players are still unable to access the Steam Marketplace despite this change, though. This move may have been in response to the Netherlands Gaming Authority’s complaints on Dota 2 and CS:GO violating its Betting and Gaming Act.

Failbetter Games has announced that Sunless Skies will remain in Early Access for the meantime, while its release date has been moved to January 2019. The intergalactic follow-up to the 2015 nautical adventure game Sunless Sea has been delayed because the developers wanted to revisit Sunless Skies’ survival mechanics, as well as Reach, which is one of the first areas created for the game. They will also use the remaining months to make further improvements including UI and the reading experience.
