Stellar Blade: Why the PC Version Is Superior to the Console Version

Stellar Blade was released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on April 5, 2024. The game offered a mix of stunning visuals with fast-paced combat set in an engaging sci-fi story. Tomorrow, the PlayStation 5 hit Stellar Blade is finally launching on PC — and it’s going to be even better than on PlayStation.

On June 11, 2025, Stellar Blade will be released for PC via Steam. The game was developed by Shift Up. It is a post-apocalyptic action adventure in which you take control of the female protagonist EVE. Your mission is to save humanity and reclaim Earth from the hostile Naytiba.

To achieve this, you’ll need to fight. The game features challenging boss fights that feel similar in difficulty to those in Souls games. You’ll wield a sword with many unique special attacks. The combat is fast, thrilling, and visually spectacular. You can already try the free Stellar Blade demo on Steam.

Higher Resolution & Better Graphics Options

The PC version of Stellar Blade supports native 4K resolution with higher texture quality. It also includes ultrawide support up to 32:9 (e.g. 3440×1440 or higher). While the difference to the PlayStation 5 isn’t massive, PC players who tested the demo reported that details are noticeably sharper, especially on 4K monitors.

You also get significantly more settings to tweak on PC, such as shadow quality, lighting, and post-processing. This allows you to perfectly tailor the game to your system. The game also supports the PlayStation DualSense controller with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, and of course, you can play with keyboard and mouse. It’s even Steam Deck Verified.

Stellar Blade with Unlimited FPS and Better Performance

On PlayStation 5, Stellar Blade was capped at 60 FPS — but that changes now. The PC version lets you turn off the FPS limiter and enjoy the game with as many frames as your system can handle. It features technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 4 with frame generation, NVIDIA DLAA, NVIDIA Reflex for reduced latency, and AMD FSR 3. So no matter your setup, you can make the most of your hardware.

Early benchmark tests show that with an RTX 4090 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D, you can reach a stable 90–120 FPS at 1440p or 4K without DLSS — smoother than on the PS5 Pro. According to Sony, over 300 FPS are possible with DLSS. Even with mid-range GPUs like the RX6700 XT or RTX 3060, you can enjoy smooth gameplay at 1080p/1440p.

Stellar Blade New Features in the PC Version

The PC release of Stellar Blade comes with some brand-new gameplay features. First, there’s a new boss called “Mann”, the leader of the Sentinels, whom you can fight in the Boss Challenge Mode. Additionally, the PC version includes Japanese and Chinese voice options with lip-sync support and a total of 25 new outfits. There are also three new glasses and six earrings. These updates will also come to PlayStation 5 as a free update.
