Stellar Blade recently launched on PC, selling over 1 million copies in its first three days on Steam, making it the platform’s fastest-selling Korean game. As a result, Shift Up has posted its most successful financial quarter in the developer’s history.

Initially launched as a PlayStation exclusive, Stellar Blade made its Steam debut on June 11, 2025, where it broke records, becoming the fastest-selling game from a Korean developer in the platform’s history.
Due in part to the action game’s success, developer Shift Up announced it had accounted for 58% of the company’s revenue, with the company posting Q2 2025 revenue of 112 billion KRW (roughly $81 million). Stellar Blade accounts for about $47 million of that revenue.
Record-Breaking Sales Performance
The Stellar Blade PC launch was a massive success, with the game outperforming fellow Sony-published titles, such as Ghost of Tsushima and God of War, reaching an impressive 1 million sales in its first three days and a launch day peak of 192,078 concurrent players.
It’s been such a hit with gamers that it currently holds a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, and developer Shift Up is already looking towards a sequel with Stellar Blade 2 targeting a 2027 launch.
Why Stellar Blade is Resonating with Players
Stellar Blade is a fast-paced, action-adventure, blending “blistering combat” with a twisting storyline that has kept players engaged from day one.
In an era when many games are unoptimized and feel janky, Stellar Blade is a visually stunning action game that feels good to play. On PC, Shift Up has launched the game with support for ultrawide monitors, graphics optimized for the platform, unlocked framerates, and an option for 4K textures, which has delighted players since its release date.
What’s Next for Stellar Blade
Shift Up was initially planning for a DLC to Stellar Blade, but since the game’s unprecedented success, the developer is instead focusing on a direct sequel. The company’s CEO, Kim Hyung-hyung, previously stated that he wants the sequel to have a “rich narrative,” which he feels Stellar Blade lacks.

Tried the demo on Steam and loved the combat and exploration. The bosses look incredible and the controls feel tight and responsive. I'm waiting for it to be on sale but looking forward to the sequel too, especially if the team is looking to deliver a more meaningful story. For people who enjoy action games and spectacle fighting, this seems to be a no-brainer.
