Stellar Blade hits 2M copies sold on Steam one month after launch. New console ports are also possibly on the horizon.

Shift Up continues to ride the wave of Stellar Blade’s massive success, first on PlayStation and now making a serious rise on PC. According to the latest stats, the action-packed sci-fi title has officially sold over 2 million copies on Steam, just one month after its PC debut. For a game that stirred as much discussion as it did anticipation, that’s a huge commercial milestone and a major win for the South Korean developer.

 

Stellar Blade Sells 2M Copies A Month After Steam Launch

Stellar Blade just keeps climbing. After launching successfully on PlayStation in 2024, Shift Up followed through with a PC release in 2025 that has only increased the game’s popularity. But the road to the Steam launch wasn’t entirely smooth.

The game faced some backlash over region lock issues, as well as the inclusion of Denuvo. However, region restrictions were quickly addressed and it turns out Denuvo wasn’t enough to deter eager fans. In fact, within the first month of its PC release, Stellar Blade crossed the 1 million mark. And now, just a month later, it’s doubled that figure.

As seen in the user stats, over 59% of Steam purchases came from the Chinese market, once again highlighting how critical the region is in driving game sales for global hits. It mirrors trends seen in other recent releases and underscores the growing influence of the Chinese PC gaming scene.

   

With Stellar Blade now solidified as a breakout success on both PlayStation and PC, the question naturally turns to other platforms. So far, there’s no official word on an Xbox release (still very unlikely as of now too). But in the Nintendo camp, things are a bit more interesting.

Recent rumors suggest that Shift Up has acquired a Nintendo Switch development kit and has already begun work on a Switch port of Stellar Blade. While no official announcement has come from both Nintendo or Shift Up, that’s not necessarily surprising since the PC version itself wasn’t confirmed until just a few months ahead of its actual release. Cross-fingers we get the Switch 2 version for Chrismtas!
