Stellar Blade 2 Update: Shift Up Is Hiring Multiple Full-Time Roles for its Development

Shift Up continues its development for Stellar Blade 2. The company is now hiring multiple roles for the game, slated to launch in 2026.

Stellar Blade 2 is moving along, marching towards its intended release next year. As development goes into full gear, Shift Up has posted multiple full-time job vacancies including screenwriter, artists, and programmers. In a year with seemingly constant studio closures and layoffs, this is a breath of fresh air.

Stellar Blade Sequel Targeted To Release in 2026

Stellar Blade launched last year for Playstation 5, and while it was exclusive to the said platform, it didn’t hinder its success. In fact, it was one of the breakout hits last year which surpassed 1M copies sold in just two months. After that, it was released on PC this year with much success, further cementing the idea that Shift Up can’t just leave the game like that. It’s almost as if a sequel was warranted.

Although no formal announcement was made, a Shift Up’s investor presentation confirmed that Stellar Blade will indeed have a sequel and is targeted to release before 2027. Working back from that, it only means that the game is now currently in development. And the recruitment page at Shift Up’s official website just confirmed that.

The South Korean company is currently hiring for “Stella Blade’s next work” which includes screenwriter, system designer, client programmer, composer, and more. A total of 12 job listings were posted, all full-time work.

We’ve seen so many layoffs this year mostly due to restructuring to accommodate AI investment. Not so long ago, Krafton, another South Korean publisher, launched a voluntary resignation program exactly for that reason. So seeing Shift Up open its doors to people makes the upcoming holidays more hopeful.
