Krafton just dropped the official release date for PUBG: Blindspot. Formerly known as Project Arc, this isometric tactical shooter hits Steam Early Access very soon.

PUBG: Blindspot Release Date Confirmed

Mark your calendars for February 5 at 6:00 AM CET. Krafton and PUBG Studios confirmed the game arrives on Steam as a Free-to-Play title, PUBG: Blindspot.

This shift from the traditional Battle Royale format to a 5v5 tactical shooter marks a major expansion for the PUBG universe. The developers aim to build the game alongside the community, using the Early Access period to refine balance and mechanics.

 

Blindspot: Gameplay Mechanics Revealed

The game abandons the third-person perspective for a top-down, twin-stick shooter experience. It focuses heavily on “sightlines.”

Vision is limited and shared among teammates. You only see what your squad sees, making communication vital. If you move alone, you risk walking into an ambush you literally cannot see on your screen.

Launch content includes:

  • Team Deathmatch: Perfect for mastering the new gunplay.
  • Demolition Mode: A strategic attack/defend mode using destructible environments.

The developers promise monthly updates following the launch. These will include UI enhancements, better control responsiveness, and new content drops based on player feedback.

 

Verdict: PUBG: Blindspot a Worthy Top-down shooter?

Since PUBG: Blindspot launches as a Free-to-Play title, there is zero financial risk in trying it out. The “Blindspot” vision mechanic adds a fresh layer of tension that differentiates it from standard top-down shooters.
