Shift Up teases Stellar Blade 2 with a first look at a Chongqing-inspired location, giving fans an exciting glimpse of the game’s setting.

 

Stellar Blade 2 is one of the most anticipated releases in its genre and every piece of information continues to fuel fan excitement. Even the tiniest reveal feels meaningful simply because it signals that we are getting closer to launch. No matter how small, each update feels like progress, even if it is only an inch forward.

And the latest detail to surface does exactly that as we now have a first look of Stellar Blade 2’s location.

 

A Glimpse at Stellar Blade 2 Location

Shift Up officially shared a glimpse of Stellar Blade 2, through the game’s official X account, revealing an in-game location alongside its real-world inspiration.

At first, many thought the setting was somewhere in Hong Kong which is a reasonable guess given the vertical architecture and tightly packed cityscape. While it turned out to be incorrect, it was not far off.

Fans quickly pinpointed the location (and later supported by Shift Up’s follow-up tweet) as being strikingly similar to Chongqing in China which is a city known for its towering buildings and layered infrastructure. The choice does feel fitting since parts of Chongqing have often been described as urban ghost towns as it fails to fill up the development.

   

Prior to the post, there was growing speculation that Stellar Blade 2 might take place entirely within the colony. But this glimpse suggests that Earth-based locations will still play a role in the sequel, even if they are not the sole focus.

At this stage, there is no way to know how or when this location will appear in the game. It could be part of a flashback, an opening sequence, or even just a brief moment later in the story. The game could begin on Earth before moving to the colony, or it might return to Earth towards the end. Who knows. All that is certain is that at some point, this building and its surrounding cityscape may come into view.

For now, it is another piece of the puzzle but one that has successfully reignited excitement across the community.
