Red Dead Redemption Confirmed For PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 — Out on Dec. 2
Red Dead Redemption arrives Dec 2 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, mobile, and Netflix Games with free upgrades, 60FPS, HDR, and save-data transfer.
Rockstar Games has found itself in the headlines again but this time, in a better light. After persistent rumors, the company finally confirmed that its 2010 hit, Red Dead Redemption, is launching on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, mobile, and Netflix Games. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Red Dead Redemption Launching on Next-Gen Consoles and Mobile
Red Dead Redemption fans can finally check a long-requested item off their wishlist as the game is now confirmed to release on current-gen consoles on December 2. It is also bound for mobile via iOS and Android, plus a debut on Netflix Games.
While it’s great news for all platforms concerned, Playstation users (specifically PS Plus members) get extra good news as it will be added to the Playstation Plus Game Catalog on the same day.
Current owners on PS4, Switch, and Xbox One will receive this upgrade for free. All saved data can also be carried over, even for Switch 2 which is great as this isn’t shared by many games re-launching on this console.
Unfortunately for those who have the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, the free upgrade does not apply.

According to Rockstar Games, this latest Red Dead Redemption version offers a smooth 60FPS experience on all platforms, along with enhanced image quality, HDR support, and resolutions up to 4K for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. As for the Switch 2 version, users can expect mouse controls, and support for DLSS and HDR.
While we already have the RDR1 on new consoles, the question is, when can we see RDR2 in new ports? Time will tell and if we were to make any bets, it will happen soon.
