At the recently concluded EA Play Live, EA Motive has revealed the official trailer for the remake of Dead Space. The game will be a full remake of the original and not simply a remaster. It will take players back to the USG Ishimura as Issac Clarke.

They want to stay true to the original’s charm and satisfy its long-time fans, so the team sought the help of passionate Dead Space fans early on in the remake’s development. They took fans’ feedback into consideration and added the team’s own ideas, however, no changes were made to the original’s story, gameplay, and characters.

The remake features gameplay improvements, and will be modernized for next-gen platforms. The team will be using the Frostbite engine which will bring next-gen graphics, revamped sound and gameplay mechanics.

It won’t have microtransactions, too. Speaking to IGN, Senior Producer Phil Ducharme said that the team learned from its past missteps so they won’t be adding anything that would “squeeze extra money out of players.” They will focus on finding ways to modernize the original’s story, characters, and gameplay. They are also taking this opportunity to expand the player base, so they are adding accessibility options that were not in the game before.

Not much is known about the Dead Space remake at this time, not even a release window. We will keep you posted as we get more details about it.
