Microsoft has confirmed it will continue to support the Forza franchise, including Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Motorsport despite layoffs at developer Turn 10 and across Microsoft in July.

Last month, Microsoft laid off over 9,000 employees, with studios, including Turn 10, the developer of the Forza franchise, losing large chunks of their workforce.
Despite what is believed to be up to 50% of Turn 10 employees laid off during the cuts, Microsoft has reassured fans concerned about the franchise’s future by announcing it will continue to support Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Horizon Motorsport.
The Layoffs at Turn 10
In June, a former employee declared Forza Motorsport “no more” after layoffs affecting roughly 50% of employees at developer Turn 10. The report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier suggested that Forza Motorsport was killed entirely by the cuts, while the Forza Horizon series would continue at the now smaller studio.
However, despite the well-known layoffs and cuts across its gaming divisions, which resulted in various games being cancelled, including the Perfect Dark reboot, Microsoft never updated fans on the next course for Forza.
Microsoft’s Commitment to Forza
In a statement on X, Microsoft has now moved to reassure concerned fans, declaring that “Turn 10 and Playground Games will continue to support Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5.”
A blog post on Forza.net reveals Forza Motorsport will receive an additional Tour at the beginning of every month via Featured Tours, with rewards indefinitely available to everyone. The next Tour to return is the Ringer Tour, which comes to the game on September 4.

What This Means for Players
Microsoft’s statement does not confirm if the Forza Motorsport franchise will continue or whether the current game is the end of the road as far as that series goes.
Forza Horizon 6, meanwhile, is reportedly in development with a 2026 expected release date. You can jump into the series now with our comparison engine, where thousands of games are dropped in price daily.
Conclusion
Microsoft has reassured fans by saying it will still support Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5 after cuts at developer Turn 10. However, the company has not said if there will be another Forza Motorsport after the current title. What do you think about the news? Is this good or bad news?
