Xbox Is Going Big On Gamescom 2025 Bringing Over 20 Playable Demos and More

With Gamescom 2025 just around the corner, excitement is already high and it’s clear that Xbox is going to be one of the biggest names on the show floor. While plenty of publishers gearing up for reveals and showcases, Xbox is drawing major attention for what they’re bringing this year. And with over 20 playable demos available at their booth alone, it’s no wonder fans are eager to see what’s in store.
Over 20 Playable Demos at the Xbox Booth
Xbox is coming to Gamescom in a big way this year, with more than 20 playable demos available on the show floor. Their booth will feature over 120 gaming stations, giving attendees the chance to try out upcoming first-party and third-party games. Some of the biggest draws include the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong, which will be playable for the first time, as well as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Grounded 2, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Other major games getting hands-on demos include Age of Mythology: Retold, Onimusha: Way of The Sword, EA Sports FC 26, and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. For the full list of available demos, you may check the official announcement here.
Apart from the demos, there’s also plenty of attention on newer announcements like Borderlands 4, Ninja Gaiden 4, and the reveal of World of Warcraft Midnight. If the Xbox Games Showcase last month was any indication of how grand Xbox is this year, this Gamescom is set to blow everyone’s mind out.

Everything Else Xbox Is Bringing to Gamescom
What’s especially interesting this year is that Xbox is letting attendees experience ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X ahead of its launch this Holiday. It’s a smart move as handheld gaming continues to grow, and Xbox clearly wants to show that their games are ready for it. Particularly, ready for your holiday budget! It’s unclear if all the demo will be equipped with these handhelds but it is likely.
Beyond the demos, Xbox is hosting a theater presentation for The Outer Worlds 2, where attendees can check out new gameplay and locations including the Tomb of the Matriarch.
They’re also running a two-day livestream from the show floor on August 20 and 21, featuring gameplay deep-dives, developer interviews, and trailers. Fans watching from home won’t be left out, as the stream will be broadcast in multiple languages and across all major platforms. Here’s the schedule so you can already mark your calendars.

One of the biggest moments of the event will come during Opening Night Live on August 19, where Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will have its world gameplay premiere. That alone is enough to turn heads but when combined with Xbox’s huge booth presence, it’s clear they’re making Gamescom 2025 one to remember.
Also worth noting that Bethesda and Blizzard Entertainment, both part of the Xbox family, will be heavily involved. Blizzard, in particular, will highlight the next chapter in World of Warcraft with special fan experiences and developer meetups. And yes, Xbox FanFest is back again this year, celebrating its 10th anniversary with giveaways and special events designed for longtime fans.
