Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Just Got 24 free Halloween Cosmetics and Fixed the Worst Bugs
The Chinese Room is not done with Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 and fully intends to polish its work even after launch. With version 1.02, not only have a myriad of bugs been fixed, but also 24 additional cosmetics whose arrival in Phyre’s wardrobe should be celebrated.
It won’t have escaped your notice that despite its narrative and visual qualities, the first-person role-playing game in the World of Darkness universe had not entirely convinced its audience.
Bugs fixed by the dozen
Whose fault is it? Well, it’s partly due to a shift in the license towards raw action, as well as various technical issues, some of which were frankly severe. And while it’s not entirely possible to fix the first problem, the second will soon be nothing but a bad memory. We won’t list all the revisions, but note that some are quite comical.
For example, it will no longer be possible to permanently lose your jump function (!?) after the tutorial, or to find yourself stuck in front of Lou’s door, like a doberman forgotten in the rain. So many small glitches that, clearly, didn’t exactly help with immersion.
As for the stability of the experience, it should finally be more acceptable, if we are to believe the number of freezes and other returns to Windows that have been resolved.
24 new Halloween cosmetics
But this is obviously not the only new feature of this update. Halloween obliges, we also find a whole battery of additional customization options for your avatar.
These range from makeup, to goat horns, and of course various hairstyles and pupils that are a bit more subdued. A welcome enrichment, given the, to say the least, basic possibilities of the default editor. In short, if you dreamed of transforming Phyre into a member of the rock band Kiss, you now have all the tools to do so.
Towards an increasingly complete game
The most important thing in this affair is perhaps the declaration of the developers themselves, who are full of promises. According to their statements, future updates should include a FOV slider, and even the possibility to replay only the parts of the game with Phyre during your second playthrough. A blessing.
A Season Pass is also already on track and will contain two new campaigns: Loose Cannon and The Flower & the Flame, respectively scheduled for Spring and Summer 2026. The perfect opportunity to discover Seattle through the eyes of Sheriff Benny Muldoon and the artist Ysabella. In short, it’s hard to deny The Chinese Room’s investment in Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, especially after the free arrival of the Lasombra and Torreador clans at launch.
