Frostpunk 2 console release announced by 11 Bit Studio for September 18th. Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass.

Finally! At long last we have more updates on Frostpunk 2. This incredible game from September 2024 is finally ready for its console debut. 11 Bit Studio has officially announced that the game is releasing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on September 18th.

 

Frostpunk 2 Console Release Scheduled for September 18

Just 2 days before its anniversary, Frostpunk 2 will finally land on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. And since the PC version is already on PC Game Pass since launch, it just makes sense that the console version will too. So members of Ultimate tier who play on console, you’ll finally be able to play this award-winning city-building survival game on September 18th as well.

Frostpunk 2’s Xbox listing is already up, so gamers can already wishlist it. The Playstation page however, although live, isn’t updated yet even with the release date.

The launch date announcement actually has a bit of controversy. While the date was announced, the Youtube trailer that came with it has now been set to private. Looks like the reveal went live ahead of schedule. Luckily, as always, nothing is too late for gaming news watchers. Some were able to download it already so there are places where we can still watch it.

   

Apart from the console launch, there are 2 major expansions scheduled for the game this year, Spectrum and Aurora. As per the roadmap, it will launch after the console release, so that’s something we can all collectively get excited about regardless of platform. A third DLC is also announced for 2026 but that’s unnamed as of now and will probably take time before any update on that is released.
