Tekken 7 Season 2 Details Revealed
Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada debuted the reveal trailer for the second season of content for Tekken 7 during EVO 2018. This time around, he dropped by the ongoing Tokyo Tenne Masters to discuss more of what fans can expect when the additional content rolls out.
Contrary to what most fans are expecting, it seems legacy characters won’t be free of charge. Lei Wulong and Anna Williams were both revealed in the EVO trailer and now Harada and company have confirmed that they are part of the Season 2 Pass and will need to be purchased either with the pass or separately. The Season 2 Pass will cost 2800 yen in Japan, which roughly translates to €29,99, while Anna and Lei will cost 500 yen each if bought separately, which translates to about €4,99 each.
Both characters will be joining the game’s roster on September 6th in Japan, along with a few balance changes and a the brand new “Wall Bounce” gameplay mechanic. The latter changes the properties of some moves so that when conditions are met, it causes opponents to bounce off of the wall for extended and more devastating wall combos. Harada had a hard time explaining the mechanic, so he showed the trailer below so fans can see it in action for themselves.
A new simple combo system, which allows players to execute pre-determined combos with simple input commands, will also be made available in offline and online modes. This will however be disabled in tournament mode. There’s also a new gauge added that shows how far off a player is from getting promoted to the next rank.
Although all these new features were said to be coming to Japan on September 6th, we don’t have any confirmation yet of whether it releases on the same date for the rest of the world. History does dictate that it most likely will though.
