Tekken 7’s Next Guest Character will be Negan from The Walking Dead
Namco Bandai took the opportunity at this year’s EVO to announce a new season of content coming to Tekken 7. Season 2 will see the addition of 6 characters to the 3D fighter’s roster, 3 of which have been confirmed in a new trailer debuted at the annual fighting games tourney.
The trailer revealed the return of two series staples, Anna Williams and Lei Wulong. Anna is shown with her iconic bazooka during her rage art, while Lei sports a fresh new look and seems like he might have different rage drives depending on his current stance. Lastly, a silhouette of everyone’s most hated The Walking Dead villain, Negan, was shown, complete with his iconic barbed bat, Lucille.

No gameplay was shown for Negan, most likely because he’s still in early stages of development, but it was definitely an unexpected reveal. There was also a total of 6 character blinds shown, which means 3 more characters are in the works. And since the first 2 characters shown were returning characters, other characters missing from the game’s roster also have a chance of making a comeback. There’s also the possibility that some of those blinds will be filled in by other guest characters.
Namco Bandai has not specified when these upcoming characters will be released exactly. The game’s Season 1 Pass contents were released in 3 waves, with the first wave adding additional customization options and the Tekken Bowl mode, and waves 2 and 3 adding guest characters Geese Howard and Noctis respectively.
Tekken 7 is currently available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
