Here’s How To Request Playstation Store Refunds Faster and Easier
Sony has made requesting Playstation refunds easier and faster. No more bots, just a button. Here’s how.
It’s so easy to pay for something but when you need a refund, it feels like climbing Mt Everest. They don’t make it easy. So much so that some people would just accept the loss and not bother. Well, that time is over for Playstation. Sony has now made it easier.
New Way To Request Refund from Playstation
Gamers can now request a refund from the Playstation Store with just a click of a button. Sony has deployed an update on the app and website where a Request Refund option can now be seen on eligible purchases.
To do this, just head on to your Transaction History, either on the app or website, and select the purchase you want to refund. Obviously, you’ll need to sign in your account for this. The breakdown of what you paid for will show up plus two buttons: Request Refund and View Policy. Just click the former and you’re done. The refunds are available for Games, DLCs, subscriptions, and pre-orders.

For pre-orders, you can request as long as it’s before the release date and the main part hasn’t been downloaded or preloaded. For those with immediate pre-order bonus, the content will immediately stop as soon as you cancel the transaction.
For games and DLCs, the refund request must be made within 14 days from date of purchase and has not started downloading. So make sure you don’t have the Auto Download feature enabled or you’re not looking at any refunds at all. This part is always a talking point as some people are a bit unhappy with it. Many gamers cite that Steam even allows refunds even after playing some parts, just because the game isn’t good enough. But hey, different platforms, different policies.
As for Playstation Plus refunds, the request has to be made within 14 days from sign up. Note that the refund, if successful, applies to your first payment only and not the recurring fee. This one, you’ll need to cancel the policy as a whole.
It’s great to see that Sony is improving the Playstation experience. Might not be perfect but definitely in the right direction. Things like this is why competition is good.
