It seems there’s news on the GTA VI front, the highly anticipated sixth main installment of Rockstar Games’ famous Grand Theft Auto saga. But it appears that some very observant users have noticed some changes right on Rockstar’s website, changes confirming activity related to GTA VI.
The news comes from many users across various social platforms, reporting a very peculiar event that occurred on May 8, 2024. Indeed, without any announcement, it seems Rockstar’s team opened the GTA VI section on their official website at the link [ https://rockstargames.com/game/vi ]. A page that included the first teaser released in December 2023 and a placeholder that was supposed to feature 4 screenshots. Shortly after users rushed to spread the news and check the page, Rockstar’s team proceeded to hide the page.
This has certainly sparked some interest after a period of almost 6 months of radio silence from the team. However, the fact that the page was created and promptly hidden by the team suggests there’s movement within Rockstar. Movement that many seem to indicate with the important Financial Report that the financial magnate Take Two will hold soon on 16 May 2024.
Although primarily targeted at shareholders, and obviously new potential shareholders, many are certain that Take-Two’s report will certainly include something regarding Grand Theft Auto VI. On everyone’s lips and capable of generating extraordinary information exchange with just a few data points. It’s also worth remembering that as of April 2024, there has been a significant change within Rockstar Games.
We’ve indeed had a return to office work for all staff starting in April 2024, most likely in anticipation of the very important final stages for GTA 6. But also a personnel cut by Take-Two of about 5% in February 2024, which saw well over 600 people laid off from Rockstar Games. We’re still far from the scheduled launch period for 2025, but it’s hoped that these internal changes won’t severely impact Rockstar for the development of the most anticipated game of 2025. While the almost eternal GTA V continues to slowly reach the long awaited 200 million copies sold mark.
