It’s been almost 10 years since a Serious Sam game, and fortunately, we only have to wait a couple more months before Croteam gives us Serious Sam 4, and here we go through the game’s features and what you can expect.

Serious Sam 4 is a prequel to the Serious Sam series, but features all the chaos and carnage that the series is known for, with never-before-seen number of enemies on screen at once, and seemingly impossible levels, all made possible with the game’s new Legion System.

The Story

Set at a time when Mental’s hordes are laying siege to the planet and destroying what remains of a broken humanity, Sam “Serious” Stone is tasked with leading the Earth Defense Force, a heavily-armed team of commandos, against an unstoppable foe.

The Horde

The Serious Sam games are known for their enemies, and Serious Sam 4 will feature all the favorites from the franchise, such as the Headless Kamikaze, Kleer, and Scrapjack, as well as a few new additions, including the Processed, Belcher, and Zealot.

The Weapons

Serious Sam 4 wouldn’t be complete without the weaponry, and fans of the original series will be glad to know that returning for the prequel will be the double-barreled shotgun, minigun, and chainsaw launcher, and the game will also feature a few new high-powered weapons like the auto shotgun.

Co-op

You will be able to destroy the hordes in a brutal campaign alone or with friends with up to 4-player online co-op available, as you complete missions and sidequests.

Deluxe Edition

Available to pre-purchase now, Serious Sam 4 features a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Editon comes with the following items:

• Serious Sam 4 digital artbook, complete with concept art, model renders, and poster art.
• Serious Sam digital soundtrack composed by Damjan Mravunac.
• An exclusive in-game Tommy Gun weapon skin.
