Pragmata shows up at Gamescom 2025 with a Demo - Here are our impressions of Capcom s new action-adventure!

Pragmata is the new space-themed action-adventure game from the team at Capcom. The game has been in development since well before 2020 and was initially planned for a 2022 release. After a few delays over the years, the date has been pushed to 2026. A new adventure that takes us to the Lunar Laboratory in the shoes of Hugh Williams.

Sent to investigate a communications blackout, he soon finds himself facing the station’s Androids, which have gone haywire. Teaming up with the android Diana, you’ll combine her hacking skills and Hugh’s combat abilities to get back to Earth. Pragmata: Impressions from the Gamescom 2025 Demo

Even though it didn’t appear at Opening Night Live, the Capcom team brought a dedicated booth for PRAGMATA to Gamescom. Giving attendees of the Cologne event a chance to try the Demo live. Which is exactly what our Kilian got to test.

The demo allowed players to experiment with the mix of Gameplay between hacking, exploration, and action sequences. The main face buttons on the controller are used during the Hacking phase to navigate a grid. The first enemies have 3×3 and 4×4 grids, and you’ll have to watch out for certain boxes that could erase your progress.

All this while watching out for enemy attacks on the duo, involving dodging and counter-attacking. This creates an interesting mix of hacking and real-time combat that builds up some serious tension. The demo wraps up with a Boss Fight against a massive robot to restore power to the Lunar Base. You’ll be dodging missiles and close-range attacks while hacking and destroying its weak points.

Pragmata: Latest News and Nvidia Feature Support

The Pragmata Demo was pretty well-received by many attendees. Many saw great potential in the dynamic and story of Hugh and Diana, with a gameplay loop that is certainly quite original. A Demo that fans in the US will also get to try soon at PAX West this coming weekend.

And for the latest news, we have new official information from Nvidia. The official post from August 20, 2025, confirms support for the new Nvidia features in PRAGMATA. Specifically, it will have Ray Tracing support with an impressive result, thanks to the many shiny surfaces of the lunar laboratory. As well as support for DLSS 4 for Upscaling.
