Playstation Refunds Players Who Purchased In-game Items From Highguard

Sony issues automatic refunds to all Playstation users who spent money on Highguard. Notices started rolling out March 17.

A week after Highguard officially shut down, Sony issues automatic refunds to all Playstation users who spent money in the game. While it was a free-to-play title, it was backed by microtransactions for cosmetics, skins, and premium battle passes.

Wildlight Entertainment May Be Shutting Down

Highguard was a total rollercoaster wasn’t it. It lived for three months from being announced, less than two as a released game, and now the studio seems to have closed too. For many, it didn’t have to end the way it did. But then some would argue, that’s just kicking the can down the road.

The game was easy to try being a free-to-play title but those who really tried and supported it by spending money, got a pleasant surprise. Well at least those on Playstation.

Turns out, PS users were getting emails and notifications from Sony issuing an automatic refund for money spent in Highguard. These started to be sent out yesterday so if you haven’t, you should be able to get today.

There are no reports yet for Steam or Xbox refunds but many believe (at least for the latter) that the same will be issued. In totality they are better at refunds than Playstation to be fair. But then we’ll see as it’s under new management.
