Overwatch 2: New Hero ‘Vendetta’ Arrives for Revenge – Play Her Free This November
Blizzard cares little for the approaching cold temperatures and today unveils the hot Vendetta, an Italian woman with a silky mane and a massive sword, who will soon join the shootouts of Overwatch 2.
The one nicknamed “La Lupa” will be the game’s 45th fighter, and the third newcomer this year (after Freja and Wuyang). Curious players will be able to try her out in a preview from November 26 to December 1 before she arrives permanently later that same month, at an exact date still kept secret.
Lore: La Lupa’s Revenge
There is no doubt that this trailer will delight the remaining lore fans, always thirsty for details regarding the original struggle between Talon and Overwatch. Dear Vendetta lives up to her name and, despite her appearance as a Colosseo starlet, drags behind her the scars of losing her father at the hands of Cassidy, Genji, and in particular, Reaper (or Reyes).
How on earth does she plan to get her revenge, you ask? Well, according to the developers at Blizzard, by starting to extend her influence through her victories at the Colosseum. Victories she snatches by the sweat of her 2-meter sword, suggesting she will specialize in hand-to-hand jousting.
Vendetta: A Melee DPS or a Tank?
Because yes, that is the main gray area regarding the character. For the moment, and without gameplay footage, we can only give free rein to our imagination. But we won’t risk much by assuming that The She-Wolf of the Arena will be a Damage type hero. Although doubt is still permitted since that would mean the absence of an additional Tank this year.
But ultimately, it doesn’t matter. If we believe her presentation, Vendetta should be devoid of ranged weapons, which automatically makes for a rather original archetype, but quite faithful to her look as a brawler capable of rejoicing while feeling the breath of her enemies against her skin.
Does this mean she will have no ranged skills? No. We can already see her throwing her sword to the sky to conclude her video, so she will likely be more versatile than we imagine.
