Fumi Games and PlaySide announced MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is now set to launch in early 2026, moving from its original 2025 release target.

The much-awaited release date announcement for MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is scheduled to happen tomorrow during the Galaxies Gaming Showcase. But before the reveal, Fumi Games is managing expectations, confirming that the game will no longer release in 2025 as originally intended.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire has officially been delayed to 2026. The game was originally expected to announce a 2025 release date during tomorrow’s Galaxies Showcase, but while the announcement will still take place, it won’t include a 2025 date.

According to a post on the game’s official X account, the team has decided to take more time to ensure the best possible experience for players. The release window has been moved from 2025 to early 2026, so the wait won’t be too long.

Many fans have responded positively to the news, expressing support, understanding, and encouragement for the developers. After all, a finished game is always better than a rushed one. Plus, there are many big game releases this time of the year so the delay is probably for the best.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is a gritty, cartoon-noir first-person shooter inspired by 1930s animation and jazz. Players become Private Investigator Jack Pepper, a war hero turned detective navigating the corrupt city of Mouseburg, teeming with gangsters and danger. Blending rubber hose animation with fast-paced gunfights, it delivers a darkly funny take on the noir genre, filled with cartoon-style combat, eccentric villains, and over-the-top weaponry.

The game will be available early 2026 for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
