Loaders is the new tank-themed shooter title from the team at Tower Five. A small independent French development team from La Rochelle. The team debuted with the strategy game Lornsword Winter Chronicle in 2019, followed in 2024 by the remake of the 2000 classic Empire of the Ants, receiving quite positive feedback.

With Loaders representing the team’s most ambitious project yet, they are entering the competitive scene for the first time. Loaders: A New F2P Tank Shooter Announced

With a surprise announcement on 17 July 2025, the French team at Tower Five unveiled Loaders for the first time. The team’s new project is a Free-to-Play style PvP title where we will pilot tanks in sci-fi combat. This is the second title self-published by the team itself.

The team accompanied the reveal with an official trailer, taking us to a post-apocalyptic future where two factions are fighting over a precious resource that powers translocation technology. As entities aboard anti-gravity tanks, we will have to eliminate the opposing faction in action-packed and destructive battles.

Loaders: What We Know About the Game and How to Join the Playtest

The new title from Tower Five takes us to the post-apocalyptic future of 2525. With an abandoned Earth at the mercy of powerful Houses, the Greymane and The Magicians. They are fighting over the precious resource known as Gold, which powers translocation technology. As a Loader, our consciousness will be transferred to Anti-Grav Tanks. Offering:

• Sci-Fi PvP Battles: With 10v10 clashes where you’ll face rival factions aboard anti-grav tanks. The goal is to destroy the enemy Pylon that protects them from an orbital strike.

• Destruction: Featuring various arenas with a high level of destructibility, offering temporary cover as well as a constantly evolving battlefield.

• Classes and Equipment: There will be 5 game classes with different stats for speed, shield, and role. Plus, you can equip various modules with 4 slots for passive ones and 5 for active ones.

• Tactical Side: Brute force won’t be enough, as you’ll have to consider the various advantages and roles of each class. With no respawns, each player will have to weigh their shots and approaches carefully. As well as the regenerative capabilities of the shield, without which you’ll be quickly exposed to opponents.

While the Tower Five team has yet to reveal the release date, they are offering the chance to request access to the first Playtest of the game on Steam. The Playtest will be available from Monday, 21 July 2025, with access granted in waves.
