Halls of Torment: First DLC and Free Content Announced

In a surprise announcement, the Chasing Carrots team finally brings some news about Halls of Torment. The action RPG in a roguelike and bullet hell style pays tribute to classic ’90s games, confirming the arrival of the game’s first DLC.

The announcement was accompanied by a short teaser, confirming the arrival of the paid DLC, The Boglands. It brings 2 new additional characters and will be joined by a Free Update that will introduce the Bard Class with 6 Exclusive Skills. The launch date is still to be confirmed.

Halls of Torment: What’s New and the Console Debut

The Boglands is therefore the first paid DLC for HoT. It’s a DLC that brings a ton of new content to the roguelike RPG, which is strongly inspired by the classic Diablo series, but also the more recent Vampire Survivors. Among the new features, we have:

  • New Stage and Quests: Bringing a new stage in a swamp among spirits, insects, and sentient trees. A new challenge for survival, accompanied by over 50 new quests.
  • 2 New Heroes: We have the introduction of The Crone, who can summon plants and spread Decay for various debuffs. And The Alchemist, who can use the elemental powers of fire, ice, lightning, and earth.
  • Abilities, Gear, and Artifacts: With 3 new Abilities and 12 new Items. These are joined by 6 new powerful and dangerous artifacts.
  • New Mechanics: With the addition of the new Earth Element and the Decay condition, a powerful curse with a lasting debuff.

Not to mention, of course, new Traits, Blessings, and obviously new ways to die. But that’s not all, because the team also finally announced the console debut. With a launch date still to be determined but confirmed to be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Notably with an enhanced version on PS5 Pro, given the included logo.

In Conclusion

So, September brings the awesome news about Halls of Torment. With the arrival not only of a major DLC but also a free update and its console debut. These new features don’t have a specific date yet, but they could very well arrive by the end of the month, celebrating the game’s first anniversary. Have you tried Halls of Torment yet?
