Finally: GreedFall 2 Ends Early Access with Official Console Release Dates
The wait for the full experience is finally over. Nacon and Spiders have confirmed that GreedFall 2: The Dying World will leave Early Access and launch its definitive 1.0 version this March.
After a turbulent period in development and early testing, the prequel is ready to hit both PC and current-gen consoles with a staggered release schedule.
GreedFall 2 Release Schedule
Mark your calendars because the rollout starts in March. The 1.0 version arrives on March 12, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S . With the console players finally joining the new adventure for the first time.
For players located in Japan, the release follows shortly after on March 19, 2026.
This update brings the narrative RPG out of its “work-in-progress” state, adding the remaining two-thirds of the story content that was missing during the Early Access phase.

The Prequel’s Road to 1.0
The road to 1.0 hasn’t been smooth. GreedFall 2 first entered Early Access in September 2024 and faced criticism regarding performance and bugs. A major update in November 2025 overhauled combat and added new regions, but the studio admits the initial launch was only the “first third” of the game.
The upcoming launch promises a complete overhaul. You play as a native of Teer Fradee, forcibly taken to the continent of Gacane. The story acts as a prequel, set three years before the original game.
Key features for the full release include:
- Tactical Combat: A pause-and-play system allowing control over individual party members.
- Companion System: Eight recruitables who can become friends, rivals, or lovers.
- Expanded World: Explore the conflict-ridden cities of Gacane.
Verdict: Is GreedFall 2 Worth It?
If you held off during Early Access, your patience might pay off. The 1.0 version adds the bulk of the narrative and reportedly fixes the “janky” elements that plagued the initial release.
However, given the mixed reception of the early builds, the smart move is to check the post-launch reviews on March 10 before committing. If the technical issues are resolved, this could be a massive RPG value for 2026.
