Kinetic Games doesn’t seem to be ruling out a possible Phasmophobia 2 with the exit from Early Access in 2026!

Phasmophobia is the horror investigation co-op game from Kinetic Games. A small indie development team from the UK founded in 2020. Debuting that very same year with the game in Early Access, it received huge success. Offering a ghost hunters style co-op formula.

Phasmophobia: Kinetic Games Reassures Fans About 2026 Launch

2025 marks an important year for Phasmophobia, and the team at IGN had the chance to interview Kinetic Games. The interview was dedicated mainly to the map rework of Grafton Farmhouse which debuted on 12 August 2025. As part of the version 0.14.0.0 of the game.

And it was an opportunity to ask a few questions to the art director Corey J. Dixon. He confirmed that the development of the game is moving forward at a good pace. Potentially seeing the final launch of Phasmophobia 1.0 with the Horror 2.0 update scheduled for 2026. This will still be followed by new additions including features and maps.

Phasmophobia: A Hint at Phasmophobia 2 and the Latest News

As confirmed by the art director, Phasmophobia is slowly but surely approaching its exit from Early Access. A development that proved to be a huge challenge for the team, but in return, they received strong enthusiasm from players. The team doesn’t deny the possibility of a Phasmophobia 2 in the future.

Among the most recent updates we have the rework of Grafton Farmhouse. Announced on 5 August in Dev Preview #20. Bringing a series of new things with a complete visual overhaul and QoL improvements. As well as various new interactions, including mannequins to communicate with ghosts. Meanwhile, the team confirms Nell’s Diner as the next map to come.
