From the makers of Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden comes another stunning tactical adventure. Join Elvis, who as a baby was brought to the town of Sedentary and left there to be taken care of by a robot older brother. A mysterious glove had been left with him which has the power to control the mysterious force called the Miasma. Now as a young man, the savage force Miasma has torn America apart and only the two brothers can search for the answers to what the Miasma truly is and as a whole alter the course of human history.
Miasma Chronicles is one hell of a ride from start to finish.
Miasma Chronicles is not light years away from Mutant Year Zero in either setting or gameplay. It is, however, a more refined and self-assured game, with an even better narrative and characters.
Miasma Chronicles skillfully merges intense turn-based tactical combat, stealth mechanics, and rewarding exploration, dresses them up in a compelling world and narrative, and makes the result accessible to a broad audience.

Miasma Chronicles is an adventure role-playing video game set in a fantasy world of dark forests, ancient ruins and mystical creatures. The game, developed by the same studio as Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, puts you in the shoes of a chosen warrior destined to defeat an ancient threat that has awakened. With an engaging storyline, interesting characters and epic battles, Miasma Chronicles will be an immersive gaming experience that will thrill RPG lovers.
Set in a post-apocalyptic environment, Miasma Chronicles features tactical gameplay with RPG elements. Beautifully designed, the game takes us to a near future where the USA has been devastated by a mysterious force called Miasma. The protagonist, who is able to control this force, begins a journey to liberate the country and change the fate of the whole humanity.
As for the storyline, it seems a bit cliché, but the design, gameplay mechanics and previous success of The Bearded Ladies allow me to say that this project is worthy of our attention. In addition, the world feels immersive and realistic. With the right strategies, this game could receive a lot of positive feedback from players who like tactical games set in a fantasy world. And if Miasma Chronicles is as successful as the creators’ previous title, it might even launch a new franchise.
Miasma Chronicles is a captivating new role-playing game that takes players on a dark and immersive journey through a mysterious world plagued by an ancient curse. The game’s atmospheric setting and hauntingly beautiful graphics immediately draw players into its eerie and foreboding atmosphere. As players progress through the game, they unravel a complex storyline filled with intriguing characters and deep lore.
Miasma Chronicles is a tactical RPG with turn-based combat set in a post-apocalyptic world. The game mixes real-time exploration and turn-based combat where you can position the party members strategically before starting the fight, much like Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, a game from the same developers. The story follows the steps of two unusual brothers as they explore the world trying to find the secret behing Miasma and meet new characters, some that will probably be possible to add to the players party. Making the correct choices in weapons and abilities upgrades can be crucial in order to overcome the most difficult enemy encounters.
from the Swedish team of The Bearded Ladies, comes another new post-apocalyptic adventure in Miasma Chronicles, a title that not only resemble their previous and rather appreciated Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, a game from the Mutant Chronicles series, both in the game setting and gameplay.
Set in about 240 years in the future, after a period of relative world peace a mysterious phenomenon occurred which not only ended said peace, but also completely wiped out the civilization, with also the raise in mutants, highly intelligent monsters sporting traits of specific animals. An unnamed woman left his newborn child in a mining city, along with a special gloves, the child named Elvis, now grown up decided together with his adoptive robot-brother Diggs to search for her, after discovering that the gloves can control the miasma, thus deciding to find the mother, the truth and possibly save humanity. Along their journey both the mayor Jason and the mysterious gun for hire Jade.
Gameplay wise the title will feature a top down view, allowing to explore the surrounding and allowing us to change character, but we’re unable (as seen in early footages) to separate each member, unlike Mutant Year Zero. While scavenging for loot and progressing through areas, we’ll encounter hostile mutants along the way, which will start the fight only if we are spotted or attack them. Thus we can sneak around the area and find a good position to start from, one that has a good cover but also enough open space to hit all the enemies. The gameplay will be like the previous title in a XCOM style, with turn based actions and importance of positioning ourself, with plenty of options, like diversion through usage of gadget, abilities and multi-area attacks (like Diggs explosives) to top it off. Not to mention there’s a certain degree of upgradeability for the weapons, on top of new skills to unlock for each characters, all of which has unique style of gameplay or specialties that set them apart. From what has been shown, most of the fight will happen in small to medium sized areas, thus allowing to control things better but a thing that force us to strategize more positioning, since distance is an issue, not to mention enemies at least in early part of the games aren’t that many, but make up for it with their unique traits, like frogpeople being able to jump on top of building, or one with scales being able to receive less damage etc.
By not being tied to a franchise, the team was able to write freely the story and focus on characterization and expand the worldbuilding as they fit. In this game, dialogues and story is at the center of it all, and while Elvis and Diggs seem to be bland at first it seems that they start to get a bit more interesting the further we go with the story, thanks to the various interactions, both during exploration and both through cutscenes.
Set to release at the end of the next month. there’s still a lot more to hear about the game, hopefully with wider coverage from the devs themselves. Let’s wait to hear more for now.
