At first I was attracted by colorful screenshots, thinking it would be a nice shooter to try. Soon, however, I realized that High on Life is exactly how the title sounds: comedy-like game with a crude humor that I am not a fan of. Despite of me being unfamiliar with Rick & Morty, I still think that this title might be interesting to fans of this sitcom or just people who are tired of serious games and want to unwind. The game has many bioms with nice location, and the gameplay will entertain you for long hours.
Easily one of the funniest games I’ve played in a while. The Rick and Morty-styled comedy makes it a must-have for fans of the show.
This game has been on my wishlist for a while, and it’s almost here. Being a major fan of Rick and Morty, having a game created by them will undoubtedly be fantastic. It’s very interesting and entertaining in the way that each weapon has its own voice and animation. The gameplay appears to be a little slow-paced, which could be a problem if the story doesn’t consider it; I hope they have a fix for it. Despite this, I still intend to purchase this title.
I don’t know what I just witnessed, but oh my am I up for it. I mean just the 25 minute gameplay is marvelous, and while the shooting seems to be a pretty regular shooter it was overflowing personality. All of the aliens, the dialogues, the narrator actually being your own gun! And the little fourth wall breaks are just awesome. I still have to see a bit more of gameplay to have a clear judge, but the game just on itself for its creativity, design and jokes is a straight up 10.
One of the strengths of the game is its Rick and Morty humor. It’s omnipresent, so if it’s not your thing, it can get tiring. Besides being hilarious, it’s a pretty good first person shooter with tricky boss fighting, and while it doesn’t reinvent the genre, there are some great mechanics. I’d say there is a lack of ennemies variety and some lack of refinement but it deserves your time.
