Episode 1 is a promising start to Dyschronia and you can tell that MyDearest has taken onboard feedback from its previous games. Despite minor issues with the counselling mini-game and voice acting, it’s considerably more immersive overall and features an engaging story that left me wanting more. By moving the premise away from a visual novel into a full adventure, this could be the VR anime experience we’ve been waiting for. I’ve got high hopes for episodes two and three.
Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate moves MyDearest’s living-anime games forward several steps by adding a greater degree of interactivity to the already excellent storytelling. Though the slow burn may put some players off, those with patience will find an intriguing mystery in a fabulously built sci-fi world. Well worth a look for anime fans; Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate hints at some great things to come, both from this series and this developer.
