Beat Slayer is a rhythm hack and slash roguelike game developed by ByteRockers’ Games, instead of just being in the background the music takes center stage! Step into the shoes of Mia, a badass music lover and tinkerer, battling hordes of robots in a 90s inspired dystopian Berlin. There is only one rule STAY ON BEAT!

• Each move you make Is counted if it matches the rhythm of the soundtrack, failure to do so will incur a severe penalty. You can’t button mash with this one; only smooth and skillful gameplay will lead you to victory against the army of robots and their imposing bosses.

A superb art direction blended with intense, frenetic rogue-like action and a pumping techno soundtrack make this a mixtape worth digging out the headphones for. It’s not a perfect record, owing to a lighter story and the odd combat quirk, but it’s one worth having in the collection.
