Broken Arrow (BA) is a militaristic real-time strategy by the Steel Balalaika development team. A Russian development studio that, in collaboration with the publisher Slitherine, brings us an ambitious modern RTS. Where we’ll lead the American and Russian forces in a large-scale global conflict.

Project started in 2019 through a Boomstarter campaign, with the first reveal of the game in 2021. Initially scheduled for release in June 2024, the game was postponed to 2025. But received strong positive feedback from the Closed Beta and Early Access. With the official reveal of the release date on 28 April 2025, today finally marks the official launch of Broken Arrow. The real-time strategy from the Steel Balalaika team with over 5 years of development, offering us a modern clash with realistic military forces. The game is officially available today, at:

  • 19 June 2025 from 9:00 AM PST / 12:00 PM EST / 18:00 CEST

The team is gearing up for launch with the official trailer, which will be released when the game is live, showing us the real-time strategy in action, throwing us into a large-scale conflict between the USA and Russian forces, with units, vehicles, and equipment through a wide selection of options.

 

Broken Arrow – Gameplay and Key Features

BA offers an ambitious real-time strategy, bringing us into a modern context with the Russian and American superpowers. Featuring real-world based locations, with an expanded strategic and tactical aspect enhanced by strong customization, along with specialization for various units and divisions. Offering the following:

  • Game Modes: A double campaign across 19 missions, a Skirmish mode with 19 maps based on real locations, and multiplayer against AI or other players up to 5v5 matches with a ranking system.
  • Units: A selection of over 300 units and 6 categories from the most renowned divisions of both factions, with customization options for aesthetics and equipment, offering over 1500 combinations.
  • Realistic Battles: Large-scale, action-packed battles. Controlling units via sea, air, or land to capture key zones. You can attack not only from the front but also lead infiltration units and disrupt the enemy’s logistics.

The team also left us a dedicated FAQ in preparation for the launch, answering various community questions and including some updated answers from the recent patch on 18 June 2025. Some fans are hoping to see features like Savegames and possibly even DLSS support along with FSR.
