Baldur’s Gate 3: Larian Studios Announces Mod Downloads Surpass 350 Million
Larian Studios has announced a new impressive milestone for Baldur’s Gate 3, revealing that the award-winning turn-based RPG has now had over 350 million mod downloads globally, far exceeding the developer’s expectations.
Since its launch in August 2023, Baldur’s Gate 3 has broken records, won dozens of awards, and introduced mod support in September 2024. The community has now downloaded over 350 million mods, as they customize and create new ways to play the RPG.
Larian Studios founder and CEO Swen Vincke celebrated the news on X, stating the numbers were “way more than we ever expected.”

Vincke describes the community’s efforts as “insane” in a video, highlighting their remarkable contributions, including over 10,000 mods uploaded.
This dedication reflects the game’s strong player retention, as players seek exciting ways to customize their Forgotten Realms experience.
A major factor in the success was the official mod support with Patch 7, which streamlined the process of uploading and downloading mods for PC and console players.
The official toolkit made installing mods easier than ever, allowing a larger number of players to explore new content in a few clicks.
