The 2D metroidvania Awaken - Astral Blade is finally coming to PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this year!

Awaken – Astral Blade is the 2D action-adventure in metroidvania style from Dark Pigeon Games. A Chinese development team that debuted with Awaken on October 22, 2024, for PS5 and PC. The game was first shown in May 2023, as part of the third phase of the PlayStation China Hero Project.

Published in collaboration with ESDigital Games, we follow the adventures of Tania, the bionic girl created by Dr. Herveus, in search of the investigation team that disappeared in the Horace Islands. Awaken – Astral Blade: Port to PS4, Xbox, and Switch Confirmed

Following a solid launch in 2024, ESDigital Games brings new updates on Awaken – Astral Blade, confirming that the debut metroidvania from the Dark Pigeon Games team will finally arrive on the rest of the consoles. It’s finally coming to PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime in 2025.

A confirmation that comes almost a year after its debut on PS5 and PC, with a port handled by ESDigital Games themselves. It’s also accompanied by a Demo available on Xbox as part of the @ID_Xbox Indie Selects Demo Fest from September 9 to 30, 2025.

 

Awaken – Astral Blade: The Latest News

A fantastic news for those who were waiting to try Awaken on Xbox, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. With a launch planned for 2025, it’s very likely we’ll see it exactly one year after the PS5 and PC launch, debuting with the most recent updates.

Specifically, the August 6, 2025 update, which brought many new features. Among the optimizations on PC for various bugs, new graphics settings, and improved compatibility with Steam Deck. But it also brought:

  • Boss Balancing: particularly Mech Mutant Prototype (reduced knockback), Anti-Infiltration Model (reduced damage), Flame Tyrant M9γ / Frozen Regent M9γ (cooldown and skills), and The Despairing Spirit (no knockback effect on spores)
  • Level Design Improvements: Including enemy redistribution, improved visibility around Karpas, new dialogue for Tania, and much more.
