Eric Barone, better known as ConcernedApe, recently hosted a commemorative livestream for the Stardew Valley tenth anniversary. He revealed that the project actually began almost 15 years ago under the working title Sprout Valley.
Fast forward to today, and the indie darling has crossed an astonishing 50 million copies sold. The broadcast gave fans a rare glimpse into the early days of development, highlighting just how far the valley has come.
The Desert Shopkeeper and the Blacksmith
Update 1.7 is officially in the works, and it brings a feature the community has requested for years. Players will finally be able to hand over a Mermaid’s Pendant to two newly romanceable characters.
Clint, the local blacksmith, and Sandy, the secretive merchant from the Calico Desert, are joining the marriage roster. This means fresh heart events, unheard dialogue, and a chance to pull Clint away from his anvil and his crush on Emily.
