Absolum is the new roguelite-style beat’em up from the development team of Guard Crush Games, Supamonks, and Dotemu. First revealed by publisher Dotemu in March 2025, as a new title in the 2025 lineup. It’s also a new original IP from the team, bringing a beat ’em up style adventure set in a fantasy world.
Taking us to the world of Talamh, afflicted by a cataclysm caused by magic. Where the Sun King Azra has exploited the situation to enslave the Mages and control the world. But as one of the 4 rebels, led by the enchantress Uchawi, we will put an end to his reign of terror. Absolum: New Gameplay Trailer Revealed
With just a few weeks to go until the official launch, the Dotemu team drops the new Gameplay trailer for Absolum. The team’s new roguelite-style beat em’ up adventure, in collaboration with Guard Crush Games and Supamonks. Scheduled for launch on October 9, 2025, on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

In it, we’ll try to end the reign of terror of Sun King Azra and his forces. Playing as one of the 4 rebel heroes either solo or in co-op. And a showcase of the powers, mechanics, and abilities at our disposal.
Absolum: What’s New in the Trailer
The new Gameplay trailer thus gives us an in-depth look at the Absolum experience. Bringing a hand-drawn 2D fantasy adventure. Where we will explore the world of Talamh, choosing our character, finding new parts and upgrades during our journey. Facing enemies and bosses who will try to put an end to our mission, which can be tackled both alone and in co-op.
But thanks to Uchawi’s power, we will come back to life in her sanctuary. With the roguelike approach that will allow us to unlock new upgrades, enhance our abilities, combine or unlock new arcane magics. As well as recruiting versatile minions, and powerful Mounts at our disposal. Adapting our playstyle depending on the character with new Arcanas. Unlocking new regions with even fiercer enemies.

From what’s been shown and especially from the Demo feedback, Absolum is shaping up to be an interesting roguelite-style beat ’em up. Combining the experience brought with Street of Rage 4, but with a roguelike and fantasy approach reminiscent of classics like Golden Axe.
