Square Enix announced that Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined will have a free demo, launching on January 7th, 2026. Bonus for those who play!

 

While fans of Dragon Quest only have a month to wait for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined’s official release, it won’t take that long to get a taste of the game. In fact, tomorrow, gamers can jump in with the free demo launching on all platforms.

 

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Free Demo Launches Jan 7th

Square Enix announced that Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined will be getting a free demo on January 7th, 2026 across Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Like other free demos that are released close to launch date, this one too has the saved data carry over feature.On top of that, playing the demo grants players Maribel’s Day Off Dress reward.

No further details were shared as to the contents of the free demo but the announcement did come with a new trailer to excite us even more. Fans like us can’t wait to experience the reimagining of Dragon Quest 7 originally released in 2001 for the Playstation 1.

   

DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined will officially launch on February 5th, 2026 for PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch consoles. Standard and Deluxe Editions are available, with preorder bonus of Trodain Togs and 3x Seed of Proficiency.

These bonuses are available to players who purchase the game by 08:59 PDT / 16:59 BST on March 5th, 2026.
