
DOOM Open Beta and Post-Launch Content Announced

Join the DOOM Open Beta and get to experience the game before it officially launches on May 13, 2016!
Bethesda has recently announced the multiplayer-only Doom Open Beta on their official website, giving those who were not able to join the closed beta a chance to try and test the game. The Open Beta will start on April 15th and ends on April 17th, but players can go ahead and pre-load the beta on April 12th.
To join the beta, all you need to do is download the beta on Steam, the PlayStation Store, or the Xbox Store.
The DOOM Open Beta will give players access to 2 maps (Heatwave and Infernal), 2 game modes (Team Deathmatch and Warpath), 1 playable demon, and 9 weapons. In addition to these, never-before-seen armor sets, taunts and hack modules will also be included.

Post-Launch Content
Bethesda has also announced their post-launch plans which includes free content updates and DLCs which will be released within the year.
Free content updates will be released for SnapMap (DOOM’s game and level editor) and for multiplayer. SnapMap updates will include access to user-generated content and content updates such as map modules, additional features and functionality, AI enhancements, editing tool enhancements, and more. New game modes, on the other hand, will be added in multiplayer.
There will also be 3 Premium Multiplayer DLC packs which will be released after the game’s launch, and the first one will be available on Summer of 2016. The first DLC will give players access to:
- 3 new maps
- 1 new weapon
- 1 new playable demon
- 1 new armor set
- 1 new piece of equipment
- new hack modules and taunts
- new customization colors and patterns
