No Rest for the Wicked - The Breach Update Now Available

No Rest for the Wicked (NRFTW) is the new game from the celebrated team at Moon Studios, known for the beloved Ori series. With NRFTW, they introduce a new type of experience, an action RPG with a dark fantasy tone and an isometric view. It transports players to a fantasy world ravaged by the return of the Plague.

In the role of a sacred warrior named Cerim, we’ll fight to end the Plague on the Sacred Isle. The game launched in Early Access on April 18, 2024, and has received strong support and feedback from genre fans. No Rest for the Wicked – ‘The Breach’ Update Now Available

Announced as part of the Early Access roadmap, Moon Studios finally releases The Breach for NRFTW. Their ambitious isometric dark fantasy ARPG is refreshed with the first major update of the game, available on Steam starting April 30, 2025.

About a year after the game’s EA launch, The Breach not only brings new areas, missions, and bosses, but also a new Plague system for hardcore fans looking for a real challenge. All accompanied by a new trailer focused on the storyline.

 

No Rest for the Wicked: What’s New in The Breach

So we’ve got a big new update for NRFTW. The Moon Studios team has added a lot of new features, additions, and also QoL and performance tweaks. Here’s what’s new:

  • Plague System: The new endgame system that adds a new level of challenge once you complete the new content. Increasing difficulty, but also the loot.
  • Story: More story content with 17 new Story Scenes. This includes 3 Cinematics and 14 Cutscenes in total.
  • New Areas: New environments, mainly Lowland Meadows and Marin Woods, plus new settlements such as Hunter’s Vale and Marin Village.
  • Weapons and Enemies: Over 150 new weapons, including Gauntlet and Wand archetypes. 2 new factions, 9 creatures, and many new bosses.
  • Performance and QoL: Several fixes and additions aimed at improving performance. Includes support for Nvidia DLSS 4.0, plus an improved UI and overall experience.

Co-Founder and Director Gennadiy Korol confirms that The Breach is one of the most important steps for NRFTW and the team. Especially true with the March 2025 announcement that the team is fully independent after the disbanding of Private Division by Take-Two Interactive.
