Forget everything you know about mining on Hoxxes, as for the first time in the franchise’s history, the dwarves are putting down the pickaxe and hopping into the driver’s seat with the Demolisher. This new class operates a weaponized bulldozer and is coming to Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor in April.
Since its launch, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has dominated the bullet heaven genre made immensely popular by Vampire Survivors by blending the chaotic mining of the original series with addictive, roguelike progression.
But while we’ve spent dozens of hours dodging Glyphids and digging tunnels by hand, the developers at Funday Games are about to hand us the keys to something much heavier.
The upcoming Heavy Duty Expansion launches on April 30, 2026, and introduces the series’ first-ever vehicle-based class. You’ll no longer just be a dwarf with a gun, but a dwarf behind the wheel of a massive, weaponized industrial vehicle, the Rock Dozer.

A New Era: The Drill-Powered Juggernaut
The new Demolisher class completely flips the script on how you navigate the caves. Instead of carefully picking your way through tunnels, you simply erase them.
This class focuses on high-impact damage and terrain manipulation. While other dwarves struggle with tight corridors, you create your own highways by crushing rock and Glyphids alike.
It turns the game into a high-speed demolition derby. You aren’t just surviving the swarm anymore, but driving right through the middle of it.
Expansion Features & Launch Details
Along with the vehicle class, the patch introduces fresh biomes that react to your heavy machinery and new enemy types designed to stop your momentum.
And that’s not all. Developer Funday Games is promising “two major, unannounced features” that it will reveal “at a later date” ahead of its April 30 launch.
