Her Story is unique and it is gaining popularity because it tells a story in a completely new way. It is a narrative driven experience that is heavy on mystery and intrigue.
In 1994 the main character Hanna Smith reported her husband missing to the police. Years later you are given access to the tapes that still remain as evidence for the case. Game starts when you log in to an old computer from 1994 watching video footage of an interview with the young British woman being asked questions about her missing husband. The videos provide clues to solve a case.
These videos are anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes long and there is over two-hundred of them. Explore the database by typing search words or terms, watch the clips where those words were mentioned and then piece her story together. The story will unfold base on what you look for. It is not a guided journey yet the game is still intuitive.
It is important to point out that while searching through the videos, the player is ultimately looking for a motive while also discovering what happened.
